Frequently Asked Questions
Chronic sinusitis can result from infections, nasal polyps, deviated septum, allergies, or immune system disorders. It causes prolonged inflammation of the sinuses lasting more than 12 weeks. Treatment may include medications, nasal irrigation, or surgery in severe cases.
Tonsillectomy may be recommended for recurrent tonsillitis (more than 7 episodes in one year), chronic tonsillitis, breathing difficulties during sleep, or enlarged tonsils causing swallowing problems. Your ENT specialist will evaluate your specific situation.
Common signs include difficulty understanding conversations especially in noisy environments, frequently asking people to repeat themselves, turning up the volume on devices, ringing in the ears, and muffled hearing. Early evaluation and treatment can prevent further deterioration.
